House Members Threaten Subpoena Over DOD Cuts

Law360, New York (September 30, 2010, 6:36 PM EDT) -- U.S. House of Representatives members are taking the “unprecedented but necessary” step of calling on House Armed Services Committee leadership to require Secretary of Defense Robert Gates to testify and provide more details on U.S. Department of Defense budget cuts, threatening to subpoena the DOD if needed.

The request was sent to Armed Services Committee chairman Ike Skelton, D-Mo., and ranking member Buck McKeon, R-Calif., in a letter signed by 37 House members from both parties, including 32 Armed Services Committee members.
