Motiva Brings Wii Patent Spat With Nintendo To ITC

Law360, New York (October 4, 2010, 3:48 PM EDT) -- With its district court case on hold, Motiva Enterprises LLC has lodged a complaint in the U.S. International Trade Commission alleging that Nintendo Co. Ltd.'s Wii system infringes two of its patents.

In its Section 337 complaint filed Friday, Ohio-based Motiva asked the ITC to investigate whether its patents have been infringed and to issue an order barring the infringing products — including the Wii console, the Wii remote and the Wii nunchuck — from entering the United States.
