Union Urges ITC To Keep Duties On China Furniture

Law360, New York (October 4, 2010, 12:50 PM EDT) -- A labor union representing workers at Standard Furniture Manufacturing Co. Inc. has written a letter urging the U.S. International Trade Commission to keep in force an anti-dumping duty order that, the union says, has helped put the brakes on China's dominance in the wooden bedroom furniture market.

"Imports already take most of the U.S. market, and the Chinese producers have demonstrated that they will use dumped prices to undersell U.S. producers," International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 991 Secretary Jim Gookins told the commission in a Thursday...
