'Die Hard' Director Sentenced To 1 Year For FBI Lies

Law360, New York (October 5, 2010, 2:04 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has sentenced John McTiernan to a year in prison after the director of “Die Hard” and other action films admitted making false statements to the FBI in its investigation of whether McTiernan illegally wiretapped a movie producer in 2000.

Judge Dale S. Fischer ripped McTiernan, who plans an appeal, at the Monday sentencing in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, saying the director has not accepted that he bears responsibility for his actions.
