Insurer Triumphs In Employees' ERISA Benefits Action

Law360, New York (October 5, 2010, 4:02 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed a class action brought by former Ohio Farmers Insurance Co. employees alleging the insurer got them to retire early by falsely promising lifetime benefits, ruling that an appeals court allowed such behavior as long as the employer discloses somewhere that the benefits could be changed.
