DHS Proposes Small Business Preparedness Rules

Law360, New York (October 5, 2010, 5:31 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has proposed a program to tailor the voluntary private sector preparedness certification standards in an attempt to meet the needs and concerns of small businesses.

The department is seeking public comments on its proposed plan to create small business classifications in the Voluntary Private Sector Accreditation and Certification Preparedness program, according to a Friday notice in the Federal Register. PS-Prep is a 9/11 Commission-recommended voluntary partnership between DHS and the private sector to improve businesses' preparedness for disasters and emergencies....
