Northwest Shareholders Demand Examiner

Law360 (March 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- True to their word, a group of Northwest Airlines Corp. shareholders has demanded that the bankruptcy court appoint an examiner to determine whether the airline is contemplating a merger behind its back.

On Tuesday, members of the ad hoc committee of equity security holders filed a motion in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, seeking the appointment of an independent examiner in the case.
