Court Rules Fendi Broke State Labor Laws

Law360 (March 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- An appeals court has affirmed that Fendi North America violated California labor laws when it fired without cause a longtime Italian employee due to visa complications.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit batted down Fendi’s argument that a federal immigration law preempted California labor regulations, which ban employers from terminating an employee without good cause.
