Govt Seeks Toss Of Atty Fees Suit Over Bid Protest

Law360, New York (October 8, 2010, 6:16 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government has moved to avoid paying attorneys' fees to a contractor, alleging that an e-mail sent by one of its lawyers seemingly promising to pay was not a binding contract.

Lawyers for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs said that Freedom Scientific Inc.'s lawsuit attempting to compel more than $36,000 in fees was without merit, according to a motion to dismiss filed Thursday in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
