US Off Hook For Marquardt's Contract Interest Claims

Law360, New York (October 11, 2010, 3:53 PM EDT) -- The federal government has won its bid to ditch Marquardt Co.'s two claims for interest in a suit accusing the U.S. of failing to cough up the full $1.4 million it agreed to pay the contractor to settle the amounts due on 23 previously performed contracts.

Chief Judge Emily C. Hewitt granted the U.S. motion to trim the suit in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims on Friday, nixing the contractor's interest claims for $78,000 under the Prompt Payment Act and $46,000 under the Contract Disputes...
