House Bill Sets Deadline For Networx Transition

Law360, New York (October 13, 2010, 1:50 PM EDT) -- Fed up with years of delay, lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives have authored legislation setting a May 31 deadline for federal agencies to begin acquiring telecommunications and networking services under the Networx program of contracts, the largest telecom project in federal history.

House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y., and ranking member Darrell Issa, R-Calif., announced Tuesday the introduction of H.R. 6267, the Complete the Networx Telecommunications Transition Act.
