Consumer Sues POM Over Juice Marketing

Law360, New York (October 14, 2010, 2:30 PM EDT) -- A Florida man has launched a class action against Pom Wonderful LLC and its parent company, accusing them of using dubious health claims to trick consumers into buying their pricey pomegranate juice.

Though the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Fair Trade Commission have rapped Pom over its health claims, the suit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Florida is one of the first consumer actions against the luxury juice maker.
