Motorola Settles Sex Bias Suit

Law360, New York (March 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- On the eve of what promised to be explosive testimony from Motorola Inc.’s chief executive, the cell phone company on Thursday reached a settlement with a former high-ranking female executive who claimed she was fired because of her gender.

The company reached the deal on Thursday with Theresa Metty, a chief procurement officer for Motorola who filed the discrimination lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in July 2005.
