ITC Sides With Apple In Touch-Screen Patent Suit

Law360, New York (October 15, 2010, 2:53 PM EDT) -- The investigative staff for the U.S. International Trade Commission has sided with Apple Inc. in its battle with a Taiwanese chip maker over a patent for touch-screen technology.

The Office of Unfair Import Investigations recommended Thursday that the commission stick to an initial decision to invalidate parts of an Elan Microelectronics Corp. touch-screen technology patent asserted against Apple, according to its motion in the ITC.
