2nd Circ. Affirms Toss Of Tobacco Deal Antitrust Action

Law360, New York (October 18, 2010, 5:04 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has upheld a lower court's decision to toss a long-running putative class action brought by cigarette importers Freedom Holdings Inc. and International Tobacco Partners Ltd. claiming that a $25 billion settlement between major tobacco makers and 46 states is anti-competitive.
