Tyson Settles Case Alleging Race Bias In Hiring

Law360, New York (October 22, 2010, 6:22 PM EDT) -- A Tyson Foods Inc. subsidiary has agreed to pay $560,000 to settle a U.S. Department of Labor case accusing the contractor of hiring Hispanics over black or white applicants.

The settlement between the Labor Department's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and Tyson Refrigerated Processed Meats Inc. also requires the contractor to offer jobs to 59 of 532 class members, the department said Thursday.
