Intel Doesn't Infringe 10 Wi-LAN 4G Patents, Judge Says

Law360, New York (October 22, 2010, 1:44 PM EDT) -- Intel Corp. has made headway in its fight over Wi-LAN Inc.’s portfolio of patents for the 4G broadband communications standard, winning summary judgment that its wireless products do not infringe 10 of the Canadian licensing company’s patents.

Judge James Ware of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Thursday swept aside 10 patents for the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access standard after Wi-LAN admitted that Intel’s products did not infringe those particular patents.
