Samsung Hit With Class Action Over Faulty HDTVs

Law360, New York (October 22, 2010, 2:58 PM EDT) -- A putative class of consumers is claiming Samsung Electronics America Inc. sells high-definition televisions with a faulty component that causes the devices to stop working after one or two years.

The suit, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, claims Samsung TVs contain defective power supply boards that routinely wear out and leak, causing the TVs not to turn on.
