Class Denied In FLSA Case Against AT&T

Law360 (March 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Ruling that employees must share more than a job title to be considered “similarly situated,” a federal judge has denied class status to a group of employees suing their employer, AT&T.

Although the eight employees all carried the title "developmental coach leader," their job descriptions varied enough that one could not file lawsuit on behalf of others, Judge Lee Rosenthal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas said on Monday.
