Bayer To Pay 3 States $3.3M To End Vitamin Claims

Law360, New York (October 26, 2010, 6:41 PM EDT) -- Bayer Healthcare LLC will dish out $3.3 million to California, Illinois and Oregon to settle allegations that it played off of consumers' fears of prostate cancer to make false statements about the health benefits of its One A Day men's vitamins.

California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown on Tuesday concurrently submitted a complaint and settlement stipulation in San Diego County Superior Court, agreeing to split the $3.3 million pot with Oregon and Illinois, whose attorneys general were signatories to the action.
