Court Shakes Head At UnitedHealth Bid

Law360, New York (March 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge overseeing UnitedHealth Group’s options backdating case has refused to dismiss claims against the company’s former and current directors, giving shareholders the green light to subpoena witnesses and seek internal documents.

UnitedHealth had sought to dismiss the complaint brought by pension funds in Ohio, Minnesota and three other states, or in the alternative, to stay the proceedings pending the decision of a special litigation committee.
