Quapaw Tribe Settles Tar Creek Superfund Fight

Law360, New York (November 2, 2010, 7:14 PM EDT) -- The Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma has settled its claims against two mining companies accused of tainting its tribal lands, ending a long-running dispute over the cleanup of Native American territory within the Tar Creek Superfund site.

The case was officially closed Monday when Chief Judge Claire V. Eagan of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma approved the dismissal of the last remaining defendants in the suit, Blue Tee Corp. and Gold Fields Mining LLC.
