Ariz. Voters Get Rid Of Affirmative Action Programs

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 3:37 PM EDT) -- Arizona voters on Tuesday approved by a strong majority a constitutional amendment to roll back affirmative-action-type programs in state universities, agencies and public contracting.

Proposition 107, shepherded through the Arizona Legislature by Rep. Steve Montenegro and Sen. Russell Pearce added to the Arizona Constitution a prohibition on preferential treatment for any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin by the state.
