Calif., Okla., Ga. Usher In New Insurance Chiefs

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 4:12 PM EDT) -- California, Oklahoma and Georgia elected new insurance commissioners Tuesday, with a switch from Republican to Democratic control in California and a party change in Republicans' favor in Oklahoma.

Democratic state Assembly member Dave Jones will replace Republican and failed gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner as California's insurance commissioner, while in Oklahoma former insurance company executive John Doak appeared to sail to victory against Democratic incumbent Kim Holland, according to preliminary results released Wednesday by state election officials.
