GAO Denies Maybank Protest Over Navy Boat Contract

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 1:59 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has rejected the protest of a company accusing the U.S. Navy of improperly awarding a training boat order under a Federal Supply Schedule contract to a vendor that didn't meet the solicitation's requirements.

In an Oct. 21 decision that was released on Tuesday, the GAO brushed aside arguments by Maybank Industries LLC that the FSS contract of rival Modutech Marine Inc. doesn't include a boat with the required minimum length of 90 feet.
