Blockbuster Faces EEOC Charges

Law360 (March 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a racial harassment suit against Blockbuster Inc., alleging Bangladeshi employees were harassed and then fired for objecting to the hostile work environment.

In a complaint filed Thursday with the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, the EEOC alleged that the Bangladeshis, who worked at Blockbuster stores in Manhattan and Staten Island, were subject to offensive remarks.
