Navy Hopes To Double Combat Ship Order

Law360, New York (November 4, 2010, 12:24 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Navy is asking lawmakers for permission to proceed with a dual procurement for its Littoral Combat Ship fleet and tap the bidders, Austal USA and a team of Marinette Marine Corp. and Lockheed Martin Corp., to build twice as many ships as first planned for roughly the same price.
