IP Boutiques May Need To Adapt To Survive

Law360, New York (November 15, 2010, 7:24 PM EST) -- Intellectual property boutiques will continue to play a crucial role in the legal market, but they may need to rethink their business strategies to stay competitive, in-house counsel say.

Longtime IP firm Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP in San Francisco and Kilpatrick Stockton LLP announced earlier this month that they will join forces in January to create a 650-lawyer firm with 17 offices across the globe, which will bring a close to Townsend’s 150-year run as a solo operation.
