E.U. Will Clear Universal-BMG Deal: Source

Law360 (March 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission is reportedly planning to eventually clear the $2.1 billion marriage of Universal Music Group and BMG’s publishing arm.

An unnamed source told AFX News that the music companies are asking the E.C. to evaluate the worth of the divestments they are offering and that the E.C. is expected to clear the deal. The companies are said to be considering selling two music publishing catalogs.
