DeVito, the former acting assistant secretary of energy for President Bush’s Department of Energy, said many lawyers still based their practice on the old-energy economy and were lagging behind the new focus in Washington and Wall Street on alternative sources of power.
“Traditional energy firms are doing a lot of regulatory work which limits their practice severely,” DeVito said. “They’re not doing project finance and infrastructure redevelopment, which is where it’s at.”...
