MEP Can't Escape Military Contract FCA Suit

Law360, New York (November 5, 2010, 5:39 PM EDT) -- Mission Essential Personnel LLC has failed to convince a judge to again throw out a qui tam suit alleging the company violated the False Claims Act by providing the U.S. with unqualified translators for its war in Afghanistan and lying about the linguists' language skills to collect under a $414 million government contract.

Judge Leonie M. Brinkema denied the defense contractor’s motion to dismiss in its entirety without further comment in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia on Friday.
