Bank's Coverage Suit Over Alleged $18M Fraud Pared

Law360, New York (November 8, 2010, 6:32 PM EST) -- A federal judge has trimmed a few claims from a lawsuit United Bankshares Inc. filed against Travelers Cos. and Chubb Group affiliates arguing that the insurers have failed to pay a claim submitted after the bank discovered it was duped into providing a Washington-area restaurateur with nearly $18 million in loans based on false documents.
