Lockheed, Boeing Score $5B UAE Helicopter Contract

Law360, New York (November 8, 2010, 4:17 PM EST) -- The U.S. government has awarded a contract worth $5 billion to Boeing Co. and Lockheed Martin Corp. to provide Boeing's Apache helicopters and related military equipment and technical support to the United Arab Emirates.

The U.S. Department of Defense's Defense Security Cooperation Agency, which coordinates arms sales and other security assistance programs to overseas allies, announced Thursday that it had disclosed the possible sale to Congress.

Lockheed Martin and Boeing were identified as the proposed sale's prime contractors.
