ITC Takes On Microsoft Patent Case

Law360, New York (March 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has agreed to review a patent infringement complaint over telephone technology brought by Microsoft Corp. against French rival Alcatel-Lucent.

The ITC said Tuesday it planned to launch an investigation on a complaint that the Redmond, Wash.-based company submitted on Feb. 16, which is aiming to block U.S. imports of Alcatel-Lucent products that allegedly violate Microsoft’s patents.

The patents involve devices used to integrate telephone systems.
