BofA Ends Bias Fight Over Merrill Retention Bonuses

Law360, New York (November 16, 2010, 7:08 PM EST) -- Bank of America Corp. settled a sex bias suit Tuesday claiming that female financial advisers at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. received smaller retention bonuses after Bank of America bought the wealth management giant in 2009.

Judge Shira Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the case Tuesday, noting that Bank of America and Merrill Lynch had settled the sex bias suit filed by Merrill Lynch financial adviser Jaime Goodman.

Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
