NJ Balks At Liberty Offshore Natural Gas Plan

Law360, New York (November 18, 2010, 4:49 PM EST) -- New Jersey environmental authorities want to intervene with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to oppose a plan by Liberty Natural Gas LLC to build a natural gas facility 16 miles off the state's coast.

On Oct. 14, Liberty filed an application with FERC for an onshore pipeline designed to carry up to 2.4 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas, according the state's Department of Environmental Protection. The onshore pipeline will run 9.2 miles from Linden, N.J., to Perth Amboy, N.J., it said.
