Lew OK'd As OMB Chief After Landrieu Releases Hold

Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 11:24 AM EST) -- The U.S. Senate has confirmed Jacob “Jack” Lew as head of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget now that Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., has dropped a hold she put on the nomination in response to the administration's offshore drilling ban.

Landrieu said Thursday that she dropped her hold after securing a promise from Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar to visit Louisiana on Monday to meet with members of the oil and gas industry and discuss the offshore permitting process.
