Medicare Fraudster Gets 5 Years, $7.9M Restitution

Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 3:44 PM EST) -- The operator of a Miami-area HIV clinic was sentenced Friday to nearly five years in prison and $7.9 million in restitution for his role in an alleged $109 million scheme to defraud Medicare by submitting false bills and paying kickbacks to patients for the use of their Medicare identification numbers on the bills.
