Ex-Societe Generale Trader Convicted In Secrets Case

Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 2:05 PM EST) -- A jury has convicted a former Societe Generale Group trader accused of trade secrets theft following a trial in which the defendant admitted on the stand that he stole code for a high-frequency trading program.

Jurors returned a verdict on Friday about three hours after they began deliberating in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, convicting ex-trader Samarth Agrawal of both trade secrets theft and transporting the stolen code across state lines.
