Broadcom Asks ITC To Ban Qualcomm Phones

Law360, New York (March 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Despite dropping patent claims against each other in district court, Broadcom Corp. and Qualcomm Inc. continue to wage their battle in front of the International Trade Commission, with Broadcom urging a government panel to bar imports of cell phones with Qualcomm chips that infringe on its patents.

Scott McGregor and other Broadcom representatives appeared before the ITC on Wednesday, arguing that a ban on cell phones with Qualcomm chips would not disrupt the market, threaten public safety or hurt consumers.
