Garmin, Others Hit With Patent Suit Over GPS Devices

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 7:13 PM EST) -- Garmin International Inc. and several other GPS device manufacturers have been hit with a lawsuit by a Texas company that claims various aviation and marine navigation systems sold by the companies are infringing its patent.

The complaint was filed on Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois by Taranis IP LLC, which has offices in Longview, Texas.
