Class Trimmed In First American Refinance Rate Action

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 4:26 PM EST) -- First American Title Insurance Co. has won its bid to partially decertify a class of Arizona homeowners alleging the company refused to implement state-regulated discounts for title insurance policies associated with refinanced residential mortgages.

Judge David G. Campbell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona on Monday granted First American's motion for decertification with respect to class members who purchased policies from its agents and who cannot be provided individual notice.
