Air Force Cans 2 In $35M Bid Info Mix-Up: Report

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 5:12 PM EST) -- The U.S. Air Force has reportedly fired two people in connection with a mix-up regarding confidential bids on a $35 billion refueling contract that gave Boeing Co. and European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. sensitive information about the other firm's bid.

Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz said the people were fired from the service's aerial refueling tanker program, the Associated Press reported Tuesday. Schwartz called the mistake a “profound disappointment,” but noted that neither company received an advantage, the AP reported.
