Oracle Wins $1.3B Verdict In SAP Copyright Fight

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 8:05 PM EST) -- A federal jury handed down a $1.3 billion verdict against SAP AG on Tuesday in an intellectual property battle stemming from SAP's purchase of a company that infringed Oracle Corp.'s software copyrights.

The eight-member jury handed down the verdict in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California a day after David Boies of Boies Schiller & Flexner LLP, who represents Oracle, asked for damages of between $1.65 billion and $3 billion.
