New NY Law Gives Leg Up To Minority-Owned Cos.

Law360, New York (November 24, 2010, 1:32 PM EST) -- A new bill signed into law by New York Gov. David Paterson aims to give women- and minority-owned companies greater access to state contracting and investment opportunities.

A.9976/S. 6888, the Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises Emerging Managers bill, sponsored by Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes, D-Buffalo, and State Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson, D-Mount Vernon, was formally signed by Paterson in a ceremony Tuesday.
