Contractors Welcome Softening Of Afghan Ultimatum

Law360, New York (November 24, 2010, 5:11 PM EST) -- A trade association representing security contractors has welcomed the Afghan government’s tempering of its plans to kick those contractors out of the country by December, but cautioned that government officials must find a longer-term fix or risk jeopardizing Afghan reconstruction.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai ordered all private security contractors out of the country within four months in August, saying they were undermining his army and police forces.
