DOD Aims To Educate Contractors On Sexual Assault

Law360, New York (November 30, 2010, 3:14 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Defense has proposed amending federal rules that govern contractor personnel accompanying armed forces outside the country to ensure that these contractors are held to the same standard as their military counterparts regarding sexual assault.

The proposed changes, revealed in a notice published Tuesday in the Federal Register, are aimed at ensuring that army contractors are aware of the DOD's definition of sexual assault as laid out by the agency's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program.
