Day Pitney Atty Wins Exit From UBS Trading Case

Law360, New York (December 1, 2010, 5:38 PM EST) -- A federal judge on Wednesday excused a Day Pitney LLP lawyer from representing an alleged recipient of insider tips from a former UBS Securities LLC employee after conflict-of-interest concerns involving the investment bank arose during plea agreement negotiations.

Judge Paul A. Crotty released James R. DeVita from the criminal insider trading case against Alexei P. Koval during a brief hearing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, leaving Koval under the representation of court-assigned defense counsel Frederick H. Cohn.
