Taiwanese Research Group Hits LG With 4 Patent Suits

Law360, New York (December 3, 2010, 4:41 PM EST) -- A Taiwan-based research group has accused LG Electronics Inc. of infringing 22 of its patents for numerous products, including liquid crystal display televisions, cell phones, Blu-ray disc players and air conditioners.

Industrial Technology Research Institute of Hsinchu, Taiwan, filed four separate complaints against LG on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

The suit alleges infringement of 15 patents related to LCD TV technology, three related to Blu-ray disc technology and two each related to air conditioner technology and phone technology....
