Kraft Hit With Trademark Suit Over Sweet Almonds

Law360, New York (December 7, 2010, 2:55 PM EST) -- A family-owned nut company has accused Kraft Foods Global Inc. of selling flavored almonds that use the same name as its own trademarked nuts.

The Squirrel Brand Co. lodged a suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Friday, claiming the Illinois-based food giant and its unit Kraft Foods Inc. have infringed and diluted its trademarks and engaged in unfair competition.
